Spicy Garlic Shrimp

Inspired by the Spanish dish Gambas al Ajillo, this super savory dish features juicy shrimp, loads of chopped garlic, and best of all, McCormick’s new Crushed Jalapeño Pepper. These dried peppers deliver that spicy jalapeño flavor without cutting, dicing, or removing seeds. Serve it with lots of toasty bread to soak up all the spicy sauce.

Preparation

  1. Place the peeled shrimp in a bowl and mix in the salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a large pan over medium low heat until butter is melted and frothing. Add sliced garlic and cook until garlic is just starting to turn golden brown, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Stir in McCormick® Crushed Jalapeño Pepper and white wine and cook for 1 minute. Then stir in shrimp, paprika, and ground pepper. Let shrimp cook, stirring occasionally until just pink, about 5 minutes, then remove from heat. Stir in lemon zest and juice. Taste and add more salt if need be.
  4. Serve shrimp covered in sauce, garnished with more lemon zest, alongside crusty bread and lemon wheels.
  5. Enjoy!
