- 2 cups neutral oil, for frying
- 3 slices white bread
- 3 tablespoons pistachio cream, divided
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- ⅔ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons crushed pistachios
- butter, for garnish
Preparation
- Add the 2 cups of oil to a medium pot and heat until it reaches 350ºF
- Cut the crusts off the bread and smear 1 tablespoon pistachio cream on two of the slices. Layer the bread together to make sure that the pistachio cream is sandwiched inside.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and vanilla.
- Dip the pistachio sandwich in the egg mixture, fully coating, and fry the sandwich until golden brown, about 30 seconds per side.
