Pantry Pasta

Ingredients

for 4 servings

  • 1 can anchovies
  • 1 can clams, with liquid, chopped
  • ½ box spaghetti
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • red pepper flake, to taste
  • salt, to taste

Preparation

  1. Cook pasta al dente according to box instructions
  2. On medium high heat, add onions and garlic to a pan with olive oil and butter and sweat until translucent. Add the entire can of anchovies, including the oil. Mix until the anchovies disintegrate. Then, add the entire can of chopped clams, including the juice.
  3. Reduce heat to-medium low and reduce the liquid down at least 50% while pasta finishes cooking. Add the pasta and mix well.
  4. Season with fresh ground pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes and serve hot.
